Ex- Grovetown clerk busted by FBI, Treasury

(Augusta, GA) – Former Grovetown City Clerk Vicky Vinson Capetillo has been busted by the FBI and U.S. Treasury agents who have been conducting a wide-ranging investigation into missing money.
Vicky Vinson Capetillo is charged in federal court in Augusta, GA with federal program theft and money laundering. If convicted, she faces a maximum 30 years without parole in federal prison.
Capetillo is charged with those two federal felonies in a criminal “information” filed yesterday, Thurs., Nov. 30, 2017 by federal prosecutors to trigger her arrest.
Capetillo was treasurer for the Grovetown Lions Club between Sept. 2015 – Nov. 2016.
Capetillo is accused of stealing at least $10,000 in FEMA Funds and an untold amount from the city of Grovetown.
The federal prosecutor is Asst. U.S. Attorney Bobby L. Christine, representing the South District of Georgia
